    Goals / Remit

    The Alliance for European Logistics (AEL) promotes a new policy agenda for European logistics services in Europe. The AEL was launched at the 1st European Logistics Summit in November 2008, and builds on the shared commitment of its members - senior executives from Deutsche Post DHL and Hutchinson. The aim of AEL is to broaden its membership. It is open to both the major providers of logistics services in Europe as well as global companies that rely on efficient logistics for the successful execution of their business operations.

    AEL represents the EU logistics value chain. With our unique membership of companies, including logistics providers, users and suppliers, AEL’s mission is to:

    • Create awareness about the logistics industry and its contribution to Europe’s society and economy.
    • Make logistics a central part of the EU’s agenda across all policies and sectors.
    • Provide a dialogue platform with policymakers in order to support an integrated approach to the EU political decision-making to drive innovation in logistics.
    • Promote a long-term EU strategy for logistics around the following areas: internal market and trade, sustainable mobility and transport, climate change and decarbonisation, and innovation and digital.
