    Allied for Startups is the policy voice of startups in the EU and worldwide.

    The organisation seeks to promote entrepreneurship and startups in industry and commerce, and to advance education and science by encouraging and growing entrepreneurship, and in particular digital entrepreneurship.

    The organisation works on a global network basis whereby its members are themselves regional and national trade associations, charities and not for profit organisations representing and supporting startups, entrepreneurs, investors, charities, and advocacy organisations.

    The main goals of the organisation are:
    1) The conduct of research and provision of education
    2) Building and maintaining a global network of startups, entrepreneurs, investors, charities, and advocacy organisations
    (3) Raising awareness of, and creating a worldwide consensus on, entrepreneurship
    (4) Decreasing the barriers to innovation

This is the core of our structure as they will exclusively vote on our Mandate, policy priorities and run and vote for leadership (the Allied for Startups Management Board, known officially as the continental council “conseil continental”).     2. Affiliate Members: Organisations with a proven interest in startup success that represent one or more startup sectors and other entities. These could now include but are not limited to: regional startup organisations, or sector-specific organisations, government-funded organisations and for-profit organisations. They must follow the following guidelines and will only be added to the Membership with a two-thirds majority vote from the Board:

    Organisations with direct engagement with startups.
    Legitimate organisations.
    Organisations that align with our values.
    Organisations that are in line with their national government regulations.
    Organisations with transparent governance structures.

    Corporate Board:

    All for-profit companies and non-governmental organisations (...) may be members of the Corporate Board. The term of office for members is 12 months, renewable upon appointment by the Board of Directors.
    The Corporate Board agrees to sponsor and support the Association in financial or in-kind priorities for a given geographical region.
    Each member of the Corporate Board has the same status. Members of the Corporate Board :
    - do not have voting rights;
    - do not participate in General Assembly meetings or other internal meetings of the Association;
    - do not participate in the definition of priorities;
    - may not veto, prevent or otherwise influence the activities of the Secretariat, the Continental Council, the Board of Directors or the General Assembly;
    - are informed of public activities and events and may participate in them by informing the Secretariat or the Corporate board;
    All logos or names of the members of the Corporate Board shall be published on the Association's website, upon prior approval of the Board of Directors.”

    Communication activities

    The organisation seeks to establish contact between the startup community and policy makers in the European Parliament, the Council and Commission including relevant bodies and agencies. Further it seeks to serve as a reliable source for policy makers to receive information about startups and digital entrepreneurship, to this extend the organisation is involved in events and other public activities.

    We connect our members to EU institutions using a variety of methods, from events, in-person and online engagement to work with the press, newsletters and social media. These publications are housed on our website, as is a list of events in which we take part.
