LGTBI#Disability#European Alzheimer's Alliance set up by Alzheimer Europe and comprised of close to 90 Members of the European Parliament having pledged their support

    Communication activities

For the 2024 European Parliement elections, AE adopted the Helsinki Manifesto with the political priorities of the European Dementia movement. It will launch a campaign asking candidates to sign the European Dementia Pledge and asking candidates to commit to joining the European Alzheimer's Alliance on their election.
The association publishes the "Dementia in Europe" magazine three times a year in which it features interviews with European and national policy makers as well as updates on relevant policy developments.
The association also regularly organises lunch debates in the European Parliament which are hosted by members of the European Alzheimer's Alliance.

    Other activities

Alzheimer Europe closely works together with the European Alzheimer's Alliance, a multi-party and multinational group of Members of the European Parliament. The member associations adopted the Glasgow Declaration at the association's Annual Meeting in October 2014 which constitutes the basis for the organisation's lobbying work. In particular, the organisation lobbies for the development of a European dementia strategy and the establishment of national Alzheimer plans and/or dementia strategies.
Alzheimer Europe also coordinates the European Group of Governmental Experts on Dementia which is comprised of health ministry officials from EU Member States. Alzheimer Europe provides the secretariat for this group and organsies the meetings of the group which are open to European Commission, OECD and WHO representatives in an observer capacity.
