AFEMS is a member of WFSA, the World Forum on Shooting Activities. WFSA is an association of organisations whose purpose is the promotion and proliferation of hunting and target shooting and the study of related issues.
We are pleased to announce that the United Nations has recognized the WFSA as an NGO (non-governmental organisation), allowing its participation at UN meetings where issues relating to small arms are discussed.
The Forum, which is a scientific and research body, is composed of dozens of associations and organisations of national and international relevance.
Together they represent the key players from the global community dedicated to the peaceful use of firearms.
The ultimate goal of the Forum is the preservation of the traditions of hunting and shooting sports in the world.
This goal is pursued through interaction with international organisations, with various national governments and with all relevant national and international regulators.
AFEMS is also a member of the European Shooting Sports Forum (ESSF).

The list below only covers meetings held since November 2014 with commissioners, their cabinet members or directors-general at the European Commission; other lobby meetings with lower-level staff may have taken place, but the European Commission doesn't proactively publish information about these meetings. For more information about which commissioner is responsible for which portfolio, check out this link: https://commissioners.ec.europa.eu/index_en All information below comes from European Commission web pages.

1 July 2024: We have noted that some meetings are appearing in duplicate, ie. some meetings seem to be listed twice. This seems to be because the Commission changes some element of a meeting data after the meeting has first been listed, which causes LobbyFacts to register it as a new meeting. We are investigating further.
