Goals / Remit
The Norwegian Childhood Cancer Society is a voluntary and nationwide organization.
We are here to help you when a child gets cancer.
Our values:
- We give hope to each other and to the outside world.
- We have the courage to speak on behalf of families.
- We have the strength to support the children and
the families affected.
- We create joy in everyday life.
- We collobarate in the Nodic Association for Childhood
Cancer Funds to make a common chart/map in the
area of childhood oncology in the Nordic region when it
comes to research, research infrastructure and clinical
work.
We have our office in Oslo in Norway with 14 county associations run by families who have, or have had children with cancer. The county associations are working
volunteer for families.
Our goal is that no children should die of cancer.
We want to be there to help children and adolescents with cancer and their families. We are present for the whole family, that is, both the sick child, siblings and parents are included. Some of the sick children have become healthy, some have suffered late injuries, some are undergoing treatment, while others are dead from their disease.
At the hospitals, our peers arrange parent nights with offers about conversations for new families. It might be good to have someone to talk to who has experienced the same situation, when a child gets so serious
diagnosis as cancer. We also provide positive experiences for those children which must be hospitalized over long periods of time.
As an oprganization we shall be a support partner and source of information for families affected by childhood cancer so that they do not feel alone.
At the same time, we want to be the biggest driver in Norway to set focus on childhood cancer in the media and society. We contribute to research and education to combat childhood cancer.
As a member you have access to a variety of offers both locally and nationally. We arrange everything from courses and collections to safe holidays for the whole family. Our county associations are coming to visit the various hospitals for you as a parent to have someone to talk to. They also provides positive experiences too
the children who must be admitted in the hospital over long periods.Main EU files targeted

In 2019 we agreed in this group and applied one common representant as a member in the mission board for cancer in Horizon Europe.
In 2020 we as an organiciation in Norway, sent our own respons to Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan Public consultationAddress
