    Goals / Remit

    BC3’s Strategy Plan aimed: (a) to integrate the environmental, socioeconomic and ethical dimensions of climate change; (b) to provide knowledge, tools, new methodologies to lead towards co-production; c) to produce multi and trans-disciplinary knowledge relevant to decision making to mitigate and adapt to climate change and sustainable development, at different levels. The BC3 Strategic Plan operates on the basis of its six Scientific Objectives (SOs): SO1-Understanding past and future climate changes; SO2-Support decision making in the transition to a low carbon society; SO3-Understanding and managing terrestrial systems for sustainability; SO4-Support decision making for successful and effective adaptation; SO5-Integrated modelling of coupled human-natural systems; SO6-Promoting integrated interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary research.
