    Goals / Remit

    - Encourage companies and cities to reduce emissions and increase energy efficiency,
    - Encourage institutional investors to make low-carbon investments;
    - Promote a consistent approach to corporate climate change reporting across the EU;
    - Direct private sector financial flows towards low-carbon investments by increasing the number of global institutional investors that use corporate climate data from European companies in their investment decisions to 760 (5% more than in 2013).
    - Contribute to building a European knowledge base relating to corporate climate change adaptation activities by collecting, analysing and disseminating relevant data.
    - Build capacity within European companies and cities to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and address climate change adaptation, through training, coaching and benchmark reports for cities.
    - Build capacity within European institutional investors to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and address climate change adaptation, through training and coaching.
    - Raise the awareness within investors and the business community about corporate climate change disclosure and sustainable investments in CEE (Central and Eastern Europe)
    - Support international negotiators in the lead-up to COP20 by providing the latest data and information about the progress of European companies.
    - Contribute to the reduction of deforestation impacts resulting from the use of unsustainably sourced commodities in company operations and supply chains.
    - Contribute to water stewardship across Europe by encouraging Europe’s largest listed companies to develop, report and implement corporate water management strategies.
    - Engage with European policymakers on the implementation of European Union water policies.
    - Raise awareness across a range of stakeholders of the water-related issues European companies face
    - Raise awareness throughout Europe of international water issues
    - Encourage the use of corporate and product environmental footprint methodologies by European companies and European institutional investors.
    - Continue the engagement with DG Environment on the evaluation of trials of
    organisational and product environmental footprint methodologies implementation.
    - Contribute to the development of climate change water and forest standards to support reporting of related risks and opportunities in mainstream financial reports and the implementation of the proposed environmental non-financial reporting requirements of the EU Accountancy Directive.
    - Contribute to the implementation of the EU strategy for Corporate Social Responsibility 2011-2014.
