    - Encourage companies and cities to reduce emissions and increase energy efficiency,

    - Contribute to water stewardship across Europe by encouraging Europe’s largest listed companies to develop, report and implement corporate water management strategies.

    - Raise awareness across a range of stakeholders of the water-related issues European companies face
    - Raise awareness throughout Europe of international water issues
    - Encourage the use of corporate and product environmental footprint methodologies by European companies and European institutional investors.
    - Continue the engagement with DG Environment on the evaluation of trials of
    organisational and product environmental footprint methodologies implementation.
    - Contribute to the development of climate change water and forest standards to support reporting of related risks and opportunities in mainstream financial reports and the implementation of the proposed environmental non-financial reporting requirements of the EU Accountancy Directive.
    - Contribute to the implementation of the EU strategy for Corporate Social Responsibility from 2015 onwards.

    • Direct engagement with European companies and cities to persuade them to measure, manage and report their strategic climate, water and forest impacts. This includes meetings and bilateral follow-ups.
    • Direct engagement with European institutional investors to encourage them to use CDP’s data in their investment decisions and to support CDP’s information request to companies. This includes meetings and regular follow-ups.
    • Direct engagement with policymakers at the European level to support the
    development of consistent, high quality policies or regulations relating to:
    o Corporate climate change reporting, water reporting, forestry reporting,
    environmental footprinting and non-financial reporting.
    o Climate change adaptation by companies, particularly in relation to water;
    o EU international climate change negotiating positions related to European
    private sector action/capability.
    • Provision of training for European companies and investors via workshops and webinars.
    • Creation and dissemination of reports on corporate climate in Europe.
    • Design and implementation of media strategies to disseminate key messages from reports, policy and best practice (external events, articles, newsletters, blogs, internet);
    • Engagement with partners, including five of the most relevant international standards- setters in the carbon emissions reporting field (e.g. GHG Protocol, GRI) and investor initiatives (such as local Sustainable Investment Forums) to share European findings internationally.
    • Member of the EU Business and Biodiversity (B@B) Platform run by DG Environment. The platform facilitate and promotes actions by the business community in favour of biodiversity.
