    Goals / Remit

Climate-KIC catalyses systemic change through innovation in areas of human activity that have a critical impact on greenhouse gas emissions and to create climate resilient communities. Climate-KIC is established and funded by the European Institute of Technology, a body of the European Union. Key to Climate-KIC’s systemic approach is our Partnership, a balanced cross-sector community of approximately 400 first-class knowledge institutions, leading corporations, SMEs, public bodies and NGOS across 34 countries. Since it was created in 2010, EIT Climate-KIC has leveraged over €4 billion in funding for climate innovation, brought 600 new climate-positive products and services to market, supported acceleration of over 4000 start-ups and trained more than 20,000 people in the skills for climate innovation and entrepreneurship.
