Goals / Remit
Climate-KIC catalyses systemic change through innovation in areas of human activity that have a critical impact on greenhouse gas emissions and to create climate resilient communities. Climate-KIC is established and funded by the European Institute of Technology, a body of the European Union.
Key to Climate-KIC’s systemic approach is our Partnership, a balanced cross-sector community of approximately 450 first-class knowledge institutions, leading corporations, SMEs, public bodies and NGOS across 34 countries. Since it was created in 2010, EIT Climate-KIC has developed the world’s most extensive climate tech accelerator, supporting over 1800 climate-positive businesses, who have raised more than €1.5bn in follow-on investment and created over 10,000 jobs. It has strengthened the climate leadership potential of more than 44,000 participants of our education programmes, where 46% are women.Main EU files targeted
