Communications activities: Regular events organised in Brussels where members of EU Institutions as well as EU stakeholders take part, publication of brochures, studies and press releases, active use of Twitter, regular updating of the CER website.

Participation to research projects in the field of EU transport policy (e.g. ERRAC, FosterRail).

CER’s interests cover all policy areas that have the potential to impact on transport by rail. CER monitors and evaluates the implementation of policies in close cooperation with its members. Through a permanent dialogue with policy makers, CER aims to address all issues affecting the railway sector in Europe.

The main EU policy areas covered by CER include the following:

Research

CER is a recognised social partner in the EU Sectoral Social Dialogue for Railways (employers) and a member of the Women in Transport Platform. CER is an alternate member in the Stakeholder Group of the European Labour Authority.
CER is also a member of the European Clean Hydrogen Alliance and part of the European Climate Pact.
