    Goals / Remit

    To contribute to the growth and competitiveness of the industry through different activities:

    A) Lobbying.
    Maintaining dialogue with EU institutions with a view to ensuring that the interest of EU footwear industry is taken into account at the appropriate level (international trade, internal market, access to finance, IPR & counterfeiting, safety, environmental & social regulations, etc.)

    B) Information and coordination.

    Liaison with Members associations, technology and educational centers: Informing them about relevant EU and other international initiatives of the EU, and establishing collaborations across Europe. Coordination of Members’ activities in relation to the EU where appropriate.


    C) Research and Innovation.

    Initiating research into subjects approved by the General Assembly on technical, safety and environmental, commercial and social issues, digital economy, etc. Identification of EU funding opportunities and participation in EU projects.

    D) Foster employment and training.

    Working with industry stakeholders and EU and other public bodies to create and monitor best practices and coordinate activities between Members. Identification of financial assistance for projects on training & education.

    E) Collaboration with other EU industry associations that have common interests in specific topics.

    F) Promote collaboration between footwear stakeholders around the world with 2 initiatives: the World Footwear Congress and the International Footwear Forum.

    G) Provision of regular country and European wide statistics, especially on production and export/import as well as other economic and social data to help provide a factual basis to other CEC activities.
