Communication activities
Deloitte partners and staff attend and occasionally speak at events on various topics organised by third parties
Other activities
In addition to the VAT Expert Group, from a tax perspective Deloitte UK:
- Is involved with consultation responses (typically in collaboration with other Deloitte member firms/affiliates) where we generally comment (from our practical experience as tax advisers) on the likely effectiveness of proposed measures to meet stated public policy objectives and on likely side-effects, such as administrative burdens on business. This activity is carried out on Deloitte’s own behalf
- Has occasional interaction with the Brussels policy community e.g. via ad hoc meetings or attending events
- Represents clients in taxation matters by filing tax returns on their behalf to taxation authorities and corresponding with the authorities and otherwise representing clients concerning agreement of the returns or related matters within the administrative discretion of the authorities. Note that this is separate from our policy and regulatory interests and activities- Meetings
