    Goals / Remit

EFFAB represents Animal Breeders and research in the animal breeding and reproduction sector at the EU level and in other international fora. Our membership covers ruminants, pigs, poultry, fish, shellfish, and insects breeding. Animal breeding is at the start of animal farming systems. Therefore plays an essential role of increasing the sustainability of food systems. As an effort of showing their commitment to sustainable and responsible breeding, EFFAB members sign Code EFABAR, is a voluntary code of good practice in support of responsible farm animal breeding. Code EFABAR is built around 6 pillars, recognizing the essential role that breeders play in ensuring the health and welfare of animals in a sustainable and responsible way.
