    Goals / Remit

    ECPAT Belgium is the Belgian official member of ECPAT International. Our mission is to eradicate the sexual exploitation of children.

    We implement a wide range of activities among professionals, individual citizens and children/adolescents :
    1) awareness-raising/prevention such as trainings, campaigns, etc.
    2) advocacy at national and European level
    3) research
    In all our activities, youth participation is an important component such as multi-stakeholder collaboration.

    ECPAT Belgium acts as the EU Brussels Office of ECPAT International. We follow initiatives, policies and legislation relating to sexual exploitation of children (ex: implementation of Directive 2011/93/EU or Directive 2011/36/11)

    - "Stop Sex Trafficking of Children and Young People" - 3 year campaign led by ECPAT International and the Body Shop that led to the handover of 2.3 millions petitions signed by EU citizens against child sex trafficking to Commissionner Malmström (2011)
