Goals / Remit
Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR) is a public university in the Netherlands, with over 20000 students.
It has a focused portfolio, with research and academic education in disciplines in the areas Economics & Management, Health & Medicine and Law, Society and Culture. It has four multidisciplinary so-called Erasmus Initiatives that are specifically focused on research across its various schools and generating societal impact together with non-academic partners. These three initiatives are dedicated to Inclusive Prosperity, Vitality in Cities, Smarter Choices for Better Health and Societal Aspects of AI.Main EU files targeted
For us as a university the main legislative proposals and policies targeted concern those for Higher Education and Research. In addition proposals or policies for specific domains that are in the scope of our disciplines, e.g. medical sciences or transportation. Finally policies that have an influence on how we perform research, such as privacy legislation. Examples of relevant legislation or policies are the (updates of) the Research Charter, documents relating to the Green Deal and calls in the context of the EU Framework Programmes

Complementary Information
Some of our scientists occasionally contribute to meetings or white papers regarding new EU legislation but this only takes up a very low percentage of their total working time. The central University Office employs a small number of policy advisors who are somewhat more actively involved in new EU policies for research and education, but for them as well this only amounts to a small part of their total working time (see above).

Meetings

The list below only covers meetings held since November 2014 with commissioners, their cabinet members or directors-general at the European Commission; other lobby meetings with lower-level staff may have taken place, but the European Commission doesn't proactively publish information about these meetings. For more information about which commissioner is responsible for which portfolio, check out this link: https://commissioners.ec.europa.eu/index_en All information below comes from European Commission web pages.
1 July 2024: We have noted that some meetings are appearing in duplicate, ie. some meetings seem to be listed twice. This seems to be because the Commission changes some element of a meeting data after the meeting has first been listed, which causes LobbyFacts to register it as a new meeting. We are investigating further.
