    Goals / Remit

“Esri inspires and enables people to positively impact the future through a deeper, geographic understanding of the changing world around them.”

Since 1969, Esri has been giving customers around the world the power to think and plan geographically and became the market leader in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technology. Esri software is being used in more than 350.000 organisations worldwide including thousands of local governments, most national governments, more than two-thirds of Fortune 500 companies, and more than 7.000 colleges and universities. Esri applications, running on more than one million desktops and thousands of web and enterprise servers, provide the backbone for the world's mapping activities and spatial analysis. Esri is the only vendor that provides complete technical solutions for desktop, mobile, server, and Internet/cloud platforms.

In Europe, Esri and its affiliates employ over 2.300 staff. In addition, around 400 European partner organizations (mainly SMEs) provide value added solutions on top of the Esri technology platform. By adding location to their business processes through Esri’s ArcGIS technology, around 100.000 European end-user organizations are reducing risk, improving performance and saving costs up to millions of Euros per annum.
