    Goals / Remit

    EAACI is an association of clinicians, researchers and allied health professionals, dedicated to improving the health of people affected by allergic diseases.

    With over 9,000 members from 121 countries and 49 National Societies, EAACI is the primary source of expertise in Europe for all aspects of allergy and clinical immunology.

    Vision:
    We aim to provide the most efficient platform for scientific communication and education in the field of allergy and immunology, ultimately striving to ease patients’ lives.


    Mission and objectives:
    The Academy is a non-profit organisation aimed at:
    • promoting basic and clinical research;
    • collecting, assessing and diffusing scientific information;
    • being a scientific reference body for other scientific, health and political organisations;
    • encouraging and providing training and continuous education
    • collaborating with patients and lay organisations in the area of allergy and clinical immunology.

    •Organisation and implementation of Allergy Focused Meetings (DHM – Drug Hypersensitivity Meeting, SAM – Skin Allergy Meeting, PAAM – Pediatric Allergy and Asthma Meeting, FAAM – Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Meeting, SERIN – Symposium on Experimental Rhinology and Immunology of the Nose, ISAF – International Severe Asthma Forum) and the EAACI Annual Congress with participants from all over the world. During these meetings sessions have been held with MEPs and EU Commission participation to raise awareness of the issue of allergy in Europe and the current involvement of EAACI members in EU funded projects.

    •Organisation and implementation of Allergy Schools that are run by EAACI across Europe http://www.eaaci.org/eaaci-meetings/allergy-schools/upcoming-allergy-schools.html. The 2015 Allergy Schools included: Food Allergy Training Course, Practical Allergy Diagnosis, Molecular and Laboratory Asthma, Early Diagnosis and Treatment of Allergic Diseases in Childhood. Planned Allergy Schools in 2016 include: Allergen Immunotherapy, Drug Allergy in Children and a Masterclass Transational Immunology.
    The schools link experts and junior members from across Europe.
