European Association of Credit Rating Agencies   (EACRA)

    EU Transparency Register

    24205924101-57 First registered on 31 Aug 2010

    Goals / Remit

Rating agencies have very different business models, some provide solicited ratings other unsolicited ones. Some ratings are public, others are only private. Finally rating agencies might be involved only in specific markets or locations.
In consideration of this diversity of business models, the association will be a platform of cooperation for European Credit Rating Agencies (“CRA”). The purposes are the promotion of Credit Ratings across Europe and the promotion of the interests of the European Credit Rating Agencies.

Objectives of the association include without limitations:
    a) Promote the interests of the CRA’s in the context of legislative measures and the communication with the relevant stakeholders (eg regulators, supervisors, market operators and the financial community as a whole)
    b) Enhance the understanding and the functioning of Credit Ratings to the financial community and the general public

    Main EU files targeted

EACRA focus lies on all regulatory developments linked to the Credit Rating Agencies Regulation and on the use of these credit ratings in other areas of legislation.
