Goals / Remit
EUCAR is the European Council for Automotive R&D of the major European passenger car and commercial vehicle manufacturers. EUCAR facilitates and coordinates pre-competitive research and development projects and its members participate in a wide range of collaborative European R&D programmes. The European automobile manufacturers are the largest private investors in R&D in Europe with over €62 billion investment per annum. EUCAR members are BMW Group, DAF Trucks, Ford of Europe, Honda R&D Europe, Hyundai Motor Europe, Iveco Group, Renault Group, Stellantis N.V., Toyota Motor Europe, Volkswagen Group, Volvo Cars and Volvo Group. EUCAR is legally part of ACEA with independent decision-making and financing (Membership fee).
Main EU files targeted
As research and innovation association of the automotive manufacturers in Europe, EUCAR is following the implementation of Horizon Europe and the Partnerships relevant for the automotive industry. EUCAR contributed to the GEAR 2030, the STRIA initiatives of the European Commission and is a member of CCAM, 2Zero, Batt4EU Partnerships and the ETIPs ALICE, and ERTRAC.
