    Goals / Remit

    EUCOLAIT is the foremost representative association for the European dairy trade. It was founded in 1959. Today, more than 850 companies active in Community and international dairy trade are either direct or indirect members of EUCOLAIT.

    Besides its various activities to promote the interests of its members within the EU institutions and other international organisations, EUCOLAIT is also a platform for discussion and meetings for European and international dairy trade companies. Through EUCOLAIT meetings, companies are able to exchange fruitful points of view and these meetings facilitate the development of closer professional and cross-border links between companies.

    The technical work of EUCOLAIT is carried out by specific product committees: Butter/ Butteroil, Milk Powder, Cheese and Casein, as well as by the Standing Technical Committee dealing with more technical issues. Senior company executives, active in the dairy trade, chair the product committees. All committees meet at least three times a year. Where necessary, ad hoc working groups may be set up for specific topics (WTO, imports, exports, food law, customs issues, etc.).
