    The European Federation of Investors and Financial Services Users (BETTER FINANCE) is a not-for-profit non-governmental organisation. It does not represent any commercial or business interests. BETTER FINANCE acts as an independent financial expertise center to the direct benefit of the European financial services users (end-users, consumers, retail investors, etc.) and other stakeholders of European financial services who are independent from the financial industry. It federates national and international organisations representing the interests of individual investors and financial services users in Europe.

    We receive a yearly grant under the Single Market Programme, administered by DG FISMA. In addition, we received a grant under the Horizon 2020 Programme, administered by EASME, for a total of circa 260 000 EUR for the period 09/2020 - 08/2023.

    We fully expect to receive EU support under the Single Market Programme for 2024 as well, but as of the submission of this update, we had not yet received the 2024 funding decision.

    Other activities

    Better Finance responds to the highest possible number of relevant consultations launched by the European Commission, the European Supervisory Authorities and other public institutions as long as they impact or may impact financial services users and other non-industry stakeholders. It also participates to workshops, expert groups and public hearings organized by European institutions or other stakeholders and organisations. Better Finance actively meets with EU representatives (MEPs, EC staff members, Council of the EU delegates) on relevant topics for the European financial policies.
