Our Vision
The free movement of capital, goods, services and workers is the core value of the European Economic Area.
Industrial and labour relations in Europe are traditionally divided into employers / business organisations on one side and employees / trade unions on the other side.
Independent professionals (or “Ipros”) provide their services to a range of clients and are therefore neither employer nor employee. Ipros make a significant contribution to many different areas of society and the economy and therefore to the socio-economic dynamics in Europe and its Member-states.
The rise of self-employed independent professionals has created an urgent need for policy adjustment in a number of areas. Thus the system of industrial relations, taxation and social security in the future must become more attuned to an increasing variety of labour relations.
Our Mission
To raise awareness of independent professionals and the independent way of working
To act as a bridge between the independent professional community and key decision makers at EU level
To support and promote Ipros and provide a voice for independents in Brussels
To draw attention to the challenges faced by Ipros and the barriers to their growth.
EFIP has five aims:
• Visibility: to promote international awareness of independent professionals, the services rendered by them and their way of life
• Value: to provide better understanding of the value this sector brings to economies
• Resources: sharing of knowledge and statistics, as well as other data of value to independents
• Dialogue: an improved communication between national organisations
• Policy: to provide a conduit for policy matters with EU institutions and other international bodies
Our Strategy
Founded in 2010 the European Forum of Independent Professionals (EFIP) is a collaboration of national associations which represent independent professionals.
Consisting of representatives from across Europe, EFIP seeks to enhance the work of national organisations already representing independent professionals.
EFIP supports research which will identify the size of the independent workforce and the value of their contribution to the economy.
By providing a pan European voice for independent workers, EFIP will continue to influence key decision makers at EU level.
EFIP stages events and seminars through which key messages can be delivered to a targeted audience.Main EU files targeted
