EMSA Budget is decided upon EMSA General Assembly in each year. In Autumn Assembly of each year, EMSA members decide upon the adopted budget of next year. In 2018, EMSA collected incomes from various sources such that Faculty Organization Membership Fees (120€ per faculty member) and Individual Membership Fees. 10.525,42 EUR was collected from our members as EMSA membership fee in 2018. EMSA also finds partners and may agree on sponsorships according to EMSA Internal Rules. After the signature of Memorandum of Understanding, EMSA may get direct financial contributions from its sponsors. EMSA got 899,76 EUR from sponsorships agreements in 2018. Also, EMSA conducted several meetings such that Spring & Autumn Assembly and TNT/TCE and EMSA got %10 of events' income. EMSA got 8.636,47 EUR from its own events' income İN 2018. Also, EMSA got 119,80 EUR from donations via its website in 2018.
EMSA spent its income according to the adopted budget by the Autumn Assembly and EMSA Budget has several outcome sources according to needs of the association. Most of the outcome compromise by the reimbursement of EMSA European Board members' travel expenses to several meetings including EMSA Autumn & Spring Assembly, EMSA F2F Board Meetings, and several external meetings. Only the reimbursement to permanent officer and reimbursement for the external meetings are falling under the scope of Transparency Registration. Other all expenses are related to EMSA's its own internal management such as administrative costs except CPME Office's expenses in Brussels, webpage, Public Relations, shipping costs, reimbursement for the travel expenses to EMSA own events, etc. All members and position-holders in EMSA are working voluntarily without any pension or payment. Some of the duty related expenses are reimbursed by the association. In 2018, EMSA did not spend any money on CPME Office or permanent officer. EMSA spent 2654,99 EUR to reimburse its members to attend an external meeting. Even we consider all external meetings might fall under the scope of Transparency Regsitration, we can say that EMSA did not spend more than 3000 EUR for the duties related to this Transparency Registration. EMSA did not pay any salary to its members or volunteers and EMSA only reimburses its members for their travel or duty-specific expenses.
EMSA is a non-governmental non-profit medical student association in Europe. EMSA does not have a separate office in Brussels. EMSA has one CPME Intern which works 4 days of a week for The Standing Committee of European Doctors (CPME) and 1 day of a week for the EMSA in the office of The Standing Committee of European Doctors (CPME). Payments to EMSA Permanent Officer in CPME Office are done by The Standing Committee of European Doctors (CPME) and not by the EMSA. Thanks to generosities of The Standing Committee of European Doctors (CPME), EMSA can maintain its functions and participate policy-making process with its very low budget. Because we are a non-profit volunteer-based student organization, we should keep our spendings as minimum as possible. We have only one EMSA member in the CPME Office and he is working only one day per week for the EMSA and EMSA does not pay any salary to him or any other its members. Other aforementioned people who fall under the scope of this Transparency Registration are only reimbursed for their travel expenses when they go to Brussels from their home and they are also working at voluntarily without any payment. -
