Goals / Remit
ETIP PV is the only independent pan-European organisation to support highest value solar PV-related knowledge generation, further development and deployment of PV technology, and the strengthening of its European sector. Now that global PV is entering a (multi-)Terawatt-scale and starts to make a real difference in terms of climate change mitigation, enhancing security of supply, creating quality jobs and more, it is crucial for Europe to remain or again become a strong player in all parts of the PV value chain.
The ETIP PV involves all stakeholders from the PV sector and related sectors, with the objective of contributing to the above-mentioned challenges with a transparent and efficient methodology.Main EU files targeted
The ETIP PV focuses on all policies that impact the general deployment of PV technologies in the European energy sector, that affect the European PV industry capacity to invest in new production capacity. The specific ETIP PV focus is notably on enabling the achievement of the PV sector's research and innovation objectives and priorities, and making sure the policies and regulations adopted at the European level contribute to accelerating the market uptake of innovative technologies, solutions and processes.

Complementary Information
The ETIP PV is governed by the Steering Committee, which is in charge of taking the platform's strategic decision. This Steering Committee is composed of members acting in their personal condition of experts of the PV sector - from academia, research institutes or industry - and elects a chair and two vice chairs, which are in charge of executive decision making (with the support of an executive committee). 5 working groups undertake the specific work of the ETIP PV on the production of publications and content, with WG leaders being involved in the executive committee and taking part in some of the ETIP PV policy advocacy activities.
The work of the ETIP PV platform, steering committee and WGs is supported by a secretariat, funded by the European Commission, which represents 2 FTE working on European policies relevant to the ETIP PV on top of other missions.Person in charge of EU relations

Other financial info
The ETIP PV Secretariat, which is the organisation funded by the European Commission to enable the activities of the ETIP PV platform, has changed composition from September 2022, meaning that the year 2022 is effectively the first calendar year of the current ETIP PV Secretariat which is implemented by SolarPower Europe and WIP Munich.
The value of the grant for the calendar year 2022 is calculated on the pro-rata of the grant for the operational period of the Secretariat in 2022 compared to the total amount of the grant on the 36 month of funding period of the current iteration of the ETIP PV Secretariat. -
