Organisational background
The association was previously known as the European Travel and Tourism Advisory Group (ETAG) and was founded in the early 1980s. Latterly it had become largely dormant.
The European Tour Operators Association Limited, (ETOA Ltd), known as the European tourism association, became a member of ETAG in 2017 at its invitation in order to support its formal purposes more actively.
ETOA Ltd. was established in 1989, initially as a voice of incoming tourism to Europe; its membership and partnership network includes over 1000 business and other organisations from B2B and B2C operators to suppliers and destination managements organisations. Its transparency register ID is 700500614404-28.
The association's name was changed to the European Tourism Association AISBL in 2017; its purposes are unchanged.- Meetings
