European Writing Instrument Manufacturer's Association

The European Writing Instrument Manufacturer´s Association (EWIMA) represents the specific interests of the leading manufacturers of writing and drawing products and related art materials in Europe. These include producers of components and accessories.
Due to the international scope and services provided distribution subsidiaries of manufacturers outside Europe are eligible to EWIMA-membership.

EWIMA is independent and funded by members only.

EWIMA’s prime activities are:

Information for members specifically on

- engineering
- consumers' safety
- environmental awareness
- competitive actions / law
- market trends
- specific legal implications

Communication amongst members:
- Internal exchange of views in committees and
working groups
- Preparations and resolutions on common positions
in all matters of concern for the industry

Membership representation towards
- government authorities, enforcement offices

Product Safety (e.g. General product safety directive, toy safety directive)
Environmental matters (e.g. single market for green products initiative, EU timber Regulation)
Chemicals legislation (mainly REACH, CLP, BPR)
