    The function of UPEI within Europe is:

    to ensure equitable trading conditions for our members
    to promote a competitive market
    to encourage efficiency of fuel supply, retailing and consumption
    to represent the views of our members to European policy-makers
    to secure equal and equitable treatment for our members in the formulation of laws and regulations (taxes, security stock regulations, quality standards, biofuel mandates etc.)
