Goals / Remit
Fair Finance International (FFI) is an international civil society network of over 100 CSO partners and allies, initiated by Oxfam, that seeks to strengthen the commitment of banks and other financial institutions to social, environmental and human rights standards.
As a global network we use a rigorous methodology to assess, report on, and campaign for more responsible investment policies & practices. By benchmarking the investment policies and practices of financial institutions in critical areas such as human rights and climate impact, we enable consumers and policy holders to demand more socially responsible, fair, and sustainable investments.
FFI builds on a pioneering model developed in the Netherlands since 2009, followed by a similar initiative in Brazil in 2011, which demonstrated the potential for bringing about positive change in the ways the financial sector invests.Main EU files targeted
The proposed Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD). This proposed Directive will set out a horizontal framework to foster the contribution of businesses operating in the single market to the respect of the human rights and environment in their own operations and through their value chains, by identifying, preventing, mitigating and accounting for their adverse human rights, and environmental impacts, and having adequate governance, management systems and measures in place to this end.
Sustainable finance
A Commission workstream that supports the European green deal aim of channelling private investment towards the transition to a climate-neutral economy. Amongst others focusing on the EU taxonomy for sustainable activities and the Corporate disclosure of climate-related informationAddress
