    Representation of all education workers (teachers and non-teachers) of public, private, cooperative and social sectors, of all educational levels, and affiliated partners in the ten unions of FNE, seven trade unions of teachers and three unions of education support employees, covering Continental Portugal, Madeira, Azores and Portuguese Communities Abroad. The activity of FNE covers the social dialogue and collective bargaining, as well as protecting the interests and aspirations of education workers.

    FNE has created a Teacher Training Center, after having been accredited as Training Entity by the Pedagogical Scientific Committee on Continuing Education (CCPFC - the Portuguese acronym) on November 11, 2015 (teacher training).

    FNE has created an Office of Training and Research, having been certified as a training entity by DGERT (Portuguese Government) on May 11, 2016 (training for non-teaching staff).

    FNE owns AFIET (Association for Training and Research in Education and Work), a project to serve the teachers and the teaching profession, and also young people and adults who want to increase their training.
