    Goals / Remit

FinUnions represents Finnish trade union confederations (SAK and STTK) in Brussels. FinUnions is representing two Finnish trade union confederations from Finland in Brussels. Our mission is to represent the views and interests of our affiliates in Finland.

Our main tasks are to contact EU decisionmakers and other key groups by representing our main focus areas.
In our activities, we are also focusing on EU communication through different channels and by newsletters to our Finnish trade unions and their members.

For further information on the confederations and their objectives:

    Main EU files targeted

FinUnions follows all EU policies that are relevant to the interests of the members of our affiliated trade unions, and of employees more generally. Our particular focus is on social, labour and economic policies. FinUnions works on behalf of its member federations to ensure that the voice of workers in Finland is heard in European policy-making.

The list below only covers meetings held since November 2014 with commissioners, their cabinet members or directors-general at the European Commission; other lobby meetings with lower-level staff may have taken place, but the European Commission doesn't proactively publish information about these meetings. For more information about which commissioner is responsible for which portfolio, check out this link: https://commissioners.ec.europa.eu/index_en All information below comes from European Commission web pages.

1 July 2024: We have noted that some meetings are appearing in duplicate, ie. some meetings seem to be listed twice. This seems to be because the Commission changes some element of a meeting data after the meeting has first been listed, which causes LobbyFacts to register it as a new meeting. We are investigating further.
