    Goals / Remit

GLOBSEC is an independent, non-partisan, non-governmental organisation that builds on the successful work done by the Slovak Atlantic Commission (est.1993). Its main goal is to shape the global debate through conducting research activities and connecting key experts on foreign/security policy. This goal is reached in part by the GLOBSEC Bratislava Forum, one of the top conferences on global security in the world. GLOBSEC also organises the annual GLOBSEC Tatra Summit, a conference that provides the ground for fruitful expert and political discussions on the future of Europe. Research fellows from GLOBSEC Policy Institute publish regular analyses, policy papers and publications responding to some of the most current challenges. Activities within this think-tank are devoted to research in three programs and two centres: Centre for Global Europe, Centre for Democracy and Resilience, Future of Security Program, Economy and Sustainability Program and Technology and Society Program.

    Other financial info

All the information provided above are based on the estimated organisation's yearly closing statement, as last year's tax declaration has not been submitted yet. Therefore the numbers may not be final. As an independent non-governmental organisation, GLOBSEC receives funding from a wide range of sources. In addition to the institutional partners such as the Slovak Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs or the Ministry of Finance, International Visegrad Fund, Wilfried Martens Centre for European Studies, NATO PDD, or the National Endowment for Democracy, or the Representation of the European Commission in Slovakia, we also receive promotional sponsoring from various business entities.

The estimated costs cover the following:
    - on a yearly basis, GLOBSEC organises three flagship events with many high level guests, including EU officials, attending - GLOBSEC Bratislava Forum, GLOBSEC Tatra Summit and Chateau Bela Central European Forum.
    - our experts undertake high quality research resulting in policy proposals or policy changes. To present our research, the organisation undertakes advocacy trips to Brussels to present the proposals to relevant stakeholders.
