    Heidelberg Materials employs two EU Government Affairs Managers supported, where needed, by an Association Manager and local Public Affairs Manager. The majority of Heidelberg Materials employees that are engaged in activities falling under the scope of the transparency register only interact with the EU institutions as part of their broader responsibilities (general management, ESG, legal department, etc.) or when their expert knowledge is requested. It mostly involves participation to trade association meetings and third party activities, but may also involve occasional official meetings/events with representatives of the EU institutions.     HeidelbergCement is a member of A.SPIRE the European Association which is committed to manage and implement the SPIRE Public-Private Partnership. It represents innovative process industries, 20% of the total European manufacturing sector in employment and turnover, and more than 130 industrial and research process stakeholders from over a dozen countries spread throughout Europe. SPIRE brings together cement, ceramics, chemicals, engineering, minerals and ores, non-ferrous metals, steel and water sectors, several being world-leading sectors operating from Europe.

    Heidelberg Materials activiely engages in discussions around sustainable construction. This includes various activities like participation to industry consultations and roundtables organised by the European Commission, participation to events or hearings in the European Parliament, meetings with EU officials or Members of the European Parliament.
