    Goals / Remit

ZOE, the Institute for future-fit economies, is an independent economic think and do tank that develops answers to the global challenges of the 21st century as an incubator for new economic thinking. We focus on innovatively linking different economic theories and methods, which enables an integrated view on topics of the socio-ecological transformation. At the interface of science, politics and civil society, ZOE sees itself as a catalyst for an integrative and sustainable economic order and promotes it through scientific contributions and transfer activities such as conferences, symposia and workshops.

Its fields of work include economic research, scientific policy advice and educational trainings.

In our research we use a broad methodological approach, ranging from quantitative economic research and modelling of complex systems (complexity economics, ecological economics) to qualitative work in institutional economics and economic transformation research, among others.
