    Goals / Remit

    The IFSP seeks to represent the interests and views of practitioners across the range of financial services to the authorities, mainly domestic but increasingly on a European level as well. To this end, the IFSP participates in consultations on new proposed laws, regulations and directives, but also takes suggestions for necessary changes directly to the authorities, where it sees the opportunity for improvement or for the smoother operation of existing processes.
    The IFSP also seeks to inform its members of any changes being introduced, and to foster discussion on issues in financial services and best practice through seminars.
    Where it sees a gap in commercial provision, it also organises professional education and training courses for both members and non-members.
    The IFSP aditionally works with the Malta Business Bureau on issues related to taxation and finance.

    Complementary Information

    The above estimate takes into consideration a number of points:
    1. The time spent on EU related issues varies from month to month;
    2. It is becoming increasingly difficult to separate EU issues from domestic issues, especially in financial services.
