    The Instituto has as fundamental objectives (written in its by-laws) the defence and dissemination of the values of democracy and the study of cultural, social, economic and cultural phenomena concerning Portugal and its intervention in the international community.

    Over the years the Instituto activities have been diverse to promote political information and debate.
    Instituto has been an active member on the social, economic and political debates on different political issues, promoting seminars, conferences and studies on said issues.
