    ENEA Italian National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development. is the second major Italian research organization, with around 2500 staff employees distributed in its research centres and regional offices all over the national territory. The Agency’s activities are mainly focused on Energy Efficiency, Renewable Energy Sources, Nuclear Energy, Climate and Environment, Safety and Health, New Technologies, Electric System Research.
    ENEA research activities are focused on the following sectors:
    ENERGY EFFICIENCY : Support to Public Administration, Information and Training; Advanced Technologies for Energy and Industry
    RENEWABLE ENERGY SOURCES: Concentrated Solar Thermal Energy; Photovoltaic; Biomass and Biofuels; Solar Thermal Energy at low and medium temperatures; Hydrogen, Fuel Cells and Energy Storage Systems

    ENEA's promotion work is represented, on one side, by the possibility of following continuously the works of Parliamentary Committees representing the key interests of ENEA (such as ITRE, ENVI, AGRI) thus having access to real time information on related subjects, on the other side, by the lobbying activity versus Italian Parliamentarians, in order to provide them with support and advice on the topics concerning ENEA’s expertise.
    This activity is mostly performed in Brussels by a staff composed by 5 people.

    Organizations of seminars and workshops on topics concerning ENEA’s expertises with the support of Italian MEPs. ENEA's promotion work is represented, on one side, by monitoring continuously the works of Parliamentary Committees (such as ITRE, ENVI, AGRI, REGI and TRAN) focusing on the ENEA’s key areas of interest, thus having access to real time information on related subjects, on the other side, by providing ENEA’s technical advice to Committees Chairs and MEPs ( in particular Italian), and representing the ENEA’s interests. This activity is mostly performed in Brussels by a staff of 6 people in view to promote the global mission of ENEA and strengthen ENEA participation in the EU framework. Promoting ENEA towards the EU and the European Commission, the European Parliament, the European Council and relations with the National Delegates and the Italian Permanente Representation in order to provide them with support and advice on the topics concerning ENEA’s expertise.
