    Goals / Remit

    LifeTime aims to transform European healthcare over the next decade. The initiative involving over 200 institutions, medical centres and >80 companies has brought together leading European scientists and multiple stakeholders to identify the challenges, priorities and solutions to implement a new research, technology and healthcare vision. Recommendations from this work were published in 2020 in the LifeTime Strategic Research Agenda and Nature article “LifeTime and improving European healthcare through cell-based interceptive medicine”. The vision is to fundamentally change the way diseases are detected and treated by cell-based interceptive medicine. With new knowledge, integrated digital and biomedical technological solutions, diseases will be detected much earlier than currently possible and intercepted using the most effective therapeutic strategy. Three technologies lay at the core of LifeTime: single-cell technologies, artificial intelligence, patient-derived disease models.
