    Goals / Remit

    Make Mothers Matter (MMM) is an international NGO created in 1947 to raise the awareness of policy makers and public opinion on the contribution of mothers to sustainable development. MMM brings together and represents a network of 45 organisations from 23 countries around the world.

    MMM has no political or religious affiliations, and thus transparently voices the concerns of mothers at international level with permanent representatives at the United Nations (with a General Consultative Status) and at the European Union.

    Communiquer vers et sensibiliser les décideurs politiques sur les défis que rencontrent les mères (Commission européenne, Parlement européen, Comité économique et social européen, Conseil de l'UE etc)
    Proposer des mesures concrètes de soutien aux mères.
    Assurer une veille et faire des recherches sur les politiques ayant un impact sur les mères.
    Analyser ces mesures politiques et communiquer le point de vue des mères pour qu’il soit pris en compte dans la préparation des propositions législatives ou non
    Représenter les intérêts de nos associations membres
    Créer un réseau d’organisations et d’individus partageant les orientations et objectifs de MMM

    Comme le révèle une enquête conduite par la Délégation Européenne MMM auprès de presque 12.000 mères en Europe et publiée en 2011, soutenir les mères qui recherchent une meilleure conciliation entre vie professionnelle et vie familiale est notre priorité. Pour cette raison, nous travaillons actuellement à:

    La promotion de la flexibilisation des conditions de travail y compris le travail à temps partiel, choisi et de qualité, tant pour les femmes que pour les hommes
    La prise en compte du travail de soin familial non rémunéré dans le calcul des retraites
    La reconnaissance et la validation des compétences acquises et/ou développées dans le travail de soin familial afin de permettre une meilleure réintégration dans le marché du travail après une interruption de carrière
    Intégrer ce travail familial non rémunéré dans le calcul du PIB des pays et le considérer ainsi comme un indicateur social complémentaire permettant la réalisation des points mentionnés ci-dessus
    Réaliser des études pour évaluer la valeur financière du travail familial non rémunéré et démontrer sa contribution à l’économie marchande
    Promouvoir l’utilisation par les décideurs politiques d’enquêtes précises sur l’emploi du temps qui montrent la valeur de ce travail familial
