    Goals / Remit

Established in 2000, MarketAxess is a leading provider of an electronic fixed income trading platform in secondary markets and related data and post-trade services for wholesale investors.

MarketAxess’s services provide a complete solution throughout the trade lifecycle, from pre-trade information, through electronic execution on venue, and post-trade confirmation. Offering a complete solution throughout the trade lifecycle is consistent with MarketAxess’ vision of making fixed income markets more efficient, transparent and competitive for wholesale investors.

MarketAxess provides its services through its regulated subsidiaries. In Europe, MarketAxess operates two MTFs under MarketAxess Europe Limited (UK MTF) and MarketAxess NL B.V. (EU MTF) and Data Reporting Service Providers each acting as an ARM and APA under Xtrakter Limited (UK DRSP) and Trax NL B.V. (EU DRSP). The MTFs are also approved to provide cross border services to other host state jurisdictions which includes Switzerland. The DRSPs are connected to 15 NCAs in total to faciliate ARM/APA reporting for its EU clients.

The group parent undertaking, MarketAxess Holdings Inc, is a publicly listed company (NASDAQ: MKTX) and recognised in the US as an S&P 500 company.

    Main EU files targeted

MarketAxess supports the initiative of the G20 commitments to bring traditionally OTC fixed income markets to centralised, regulated electronic trading platforms. The outcome will potentially lead to increased liquidity, efficiency and transparency for liquidity seekers and liquidity providers. Other potential benefits include potential cost savings for investors, reduction of operational risk through automated post-trade processing, and efficient risk monitoring and compliance.
