    Goals / Remit

    Mediceus is a start-up health data operator. It started technical development in January 2019 on developing a major system to obtain new scientific knowledge from the large-scale processing of consented, anonymized health data.
    This is based on a patient-centric, GDPR compliant, cryptography-enabled, intrinsincally safe computer architecture where the data controller has no access to personal identifiers but yet is able to maintain contact with the data subject (to update EHR, to allow data sharing with doctor) without having any contact data or numbers for the data subject.
    The data will be shared with the citizen and the doctor for free. Reasearchers will pay and annual fee for unlimited access to the database. For-profit companies will pay commercial rates to the scientific data produced from the processing of the health data.
    On no account will personal data or health data, anonymized or identified, ever be commercialized or disclosed.

    The company is preparing to launch a pilot project where patients presenting for clinical tests will be invited to download the Mediceus application, which is the starting point of the data extraction, loading and transformation process to feed data into the Mediceus database.
    This will take place starting in May 2021 in partnership with a major health care provider in Portugal.
