    Goals / Remit

    NMWE is the voice of the European Natural Mineral & Spring water producers. Through its membership base of national trade associations and direct company members, NMWE represents over 550 producers of natural mineral and spring waters. NMWE promotes natural mineral and spring waters as the best source of natural and healthy hydration. Its statutory purposes include: representation of the interests of the sector before European and international institutions and other relevant stakeholders; identification of issues likely to affect members and development of solutions with due regard to the industry’s diversity; promotion of good manufacturing practices, encouragement of socially responsible and sustainable management practices, promotion of the industry’s role with respect to source and environment protection.

    2. Member of the WaterProtect project, led by VITO. Three-year EU funded, Horizon 2020, project with the aim to protect drinking water resources from pollution by pesticides and nitrates. To reach this ambitious goal, the project will identify and develop innovative participation and governance strategies and promote the most appropriate mitigation measures in 7 EU member states. NMWE's role is to showcase producers' best practices in the field of source protection.
