    Goals / Remit

    Gas Transmission Operator GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. is a joint stock company, wholly owned by Polish State Treasury. It is a strategic company for Poland’s economy and energy security.

    GAZ-SYSTEM is an independent and fully unbundled transmission system operator (TSO) for natural gas. It is providing equal services to all entities on a non-discriminatory basis.

    GAZ-SYSTEM’s key task is the transport of gas via the transmission network throughout Poland to supply gas to the distribution networks and final customers connected to the transmission system. The Company is also responsible for operation of the LNG Terminal in Świnoujście via its SPV, Polskie LNG S.A.

    Support to BEMIP High Level Working Group - GAZ-SYSTEM representatives
    GAZ-SYSTEM as a TSO and infrastructure project promoter takes part in regional groups with EC.
    Starting from 2009 the company is represented in the BEMIP Gas Working Group with various subgroups, Since 2011 it takes part in the NSI East gas Working Group.

    With implementation of the TENE regulation GAZ-SYSTEM is participating in its BEMIP, NSI East Gas and Southern Gas Corridor Working Groups, various cross-regional meetings as well as the observer to CESEC group.

    The Brussels office coordinates the Company's activities in the EU Policy area. The main interest is towards EU policy initiatives in the field of energy infrastructure:
    - TENE Guidelines and PCI selection and application process
    - Energy Union Initiative,
    - III Energy Package

    GAZ-SYSTEM also follows closely the EC activities concerning the Security of Gas Supply in relation to the situation in Ukraine and Eastern supply direction.

    Company's Representatives are directly involved in the work of ad-hoc working groups for natural gas - working on PCIs evaluation and selection for the new TENe guidelines.

    GAZ-SYSTEM is also involved in TSOs work on network codes development on the ENTSOG forum. In 2015 it was also working on new edition of 10-year Network Development Plan of ENTSOG.
