OASIS Open is a nonprofit global open development consortium where experts come together to solve some of the world’s biggest technical challenges through the development of open source code and open standards. OASIS Open is one of the largest and oldest standards consortia in the Internet and ICT domain, and has collaborated and hosted key standards for global and European commerce for decades. Many of its standards are supported by robust open source software as well. OASIS Open promotes industry consensus and produces worldwide standards for cybersecurity, the Internet of Things, e-commerce, trade and invoicing, customs, legal data exchange, knowledge representation and content technologies (including open data formats, wide-scale data exchange processes, and information quality and misinformation processing methods), circularity in supply chain data, blockchain, emergency management and crisis response, cloud computing, mobility, and other areas.

Communication activities
OASIS Open acts as a host organization for collaborative ICT open standards, open source code and open data projects developed by experts and stakeholders from industry, public administration and academia, under pro-competitive, vendor-neutral ground rules. Those projects promote the development of interoperable and inclusive data structures, accessibility to both open source and commercial software tools, and open business process policies and methods. There are over 60 OASIS Open technical committees and open source projects, each housing a defined program of work. OASIS Open publishes the output of each of those projects, at no cost, frequently contributes them to or shares them with other standards organizations, and also hosts and co-hosts periodic events in support of those initiatives.
