    Goals / Remit

“VenEuropa” is a not-for-profit organisation pro democracy and respect for all human beings, free from any kind of political affiliations, that promotes analysis and debate about the reality of Venezuela, from the perspective of the socio-cultural ties that unite it with Europe, providing for that purpose platforms and spaces, on an international level, which facilitate the search for viable solutions to the conflicts which afflict Venezuela.

    Main EU files targeted

HAs VenEuropa, Venezuelan Civil Society Organisation, we attempt to influence EU policy on four main topics.

    a) Human Rights in Latin America, with a particular focus on Venezuela.

    b) Migration crisis in Latin America as a result of the political, economic and humanitarian situation in Venezuela.

    c) Humanitarian Assistance for displaced people

    d) Sanctions against Venezuela and other foreign policy actions.

Please see below the policies that we are currently trying to influence.

    · Regulation (EU) 2019/125 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 16 January 2019 concerning trade in certain goods which could be used for capital punishment, torture or other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment

    · Council Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/1169 of 8 July 2019 implementing Regulation (EU) 2017/2063 concerning restrictive measures in view of the situation in Venezuela

    · Council Decision (CFSP) 2019/1171 of 8 July 2019 amending Decision (CFSP) 2017/2074 concerning restrictive measures in view of the situation in Venezuela

    · Council Decision (CFSP) 2019/1893 of 11 November 2019 amending Decision (CFSP) 2017/2074 concerning restrictive measures in view of the situation in Venezuela

    · The European Parliament recognised on Thursday Juan Guaidó as the legitimate interim President of Venezuela, in accordance with the Venezuelan Constitution.

In addition to the aforementioned policies, we work to create awareness amongst policy makers in the EU about the situation in Venezuela and to make it a key focus point for the European Union. Please see below the Committees and Delegations with monitor and follow:
