    Goals / Remit

Procter & Gamble is one of the world’s largest consumer goods companies with more than 200 brands serving approximately 4.6 billion people around the globe. Our purpose is to touch and improve people’s everyday lives with trusted quality brands. In Europe, we have more than 30 market-leading brands that are some of the best known household names.

P&G has been in Europe since 1930, when we opened our first subsidiary in the United Kingdom. Now we sell our brands everywhere in the EU and have on-the-ground operations in almost every country. Today Western Europe employees represent just under a quarter of the global diverse employee base.

Innovation is the driving force behind our strategy, as it has always been at P&G. We have eight global innovation centres in Europe and employ more than 3,000 scientists in our region, working on P&G’s next big innovation. We conduct over 20,000 consumer and market research studies annually, investing more than $400 million a year globally.

At P&G, we do the right thing. This may be a simple statement, but it’s also the foundation of who we are as an organization. For us, this means upholding our Purpose, Values and Principles – our PVPs – in all of our work. Throughout our history of over 175 years, our business has grown and changed, but our fundamental values have endured. We want our customers, consumers, fellow employees and business partners to know that we do what we say, and we say what we mean. This reputation, built over time and rebuilt every day, is what sets us apart. It is the foundation of our Company.

We also believe that profit responsibility and social responsibility must go hand in hand. This is why we support those in need. For instance, thanks to our partnership with UNICEF we are providing life-saving tetanus vaccines with the long term goal of eliminating the disease in countries where it still exists. Since partnering, UNICEF and P&G have helped protect more than 100 million women and their babies from maternal and neonatal tetanus thanks to 300 million vaccines donated.

Similarly, we believe we have a responsibility to conduct business in a way that preserves the planet and improves the communities in which we live and work. To achieve this we have set specific strategies and goals to deliver products that are better for the environment, mostly through increasing renewable materials, packaging reduction and compaction. Likewise, we are engaged to make our operations ever more environmentally responsible by reducing energy usage, CO2 emissions, waste disposed and water usage.
