Goals / Remit
The Queen Mary Intellectual Property Research Institute (QMIPRI) has its genesis in the 1990s, and has become an internationally renowned research institution in this area, carrying out research in all fields of intellectual property law, taking an international and comparative perspective, as well as socio-economic and cultural considerations. QMIPRI members are regular speakers at international conferences and have acted as advisors for the following organisations: OECD, WTO, WIPO, UNCTAD, the European Parliament, the European Patent Office, the European Commission; as well as for non-governmental organisations and national governments and IP Offices (including UK, Israel, Singapore, Cambodia, Ghana). QMIPRI is a founding member of the European Intellectual Property Institutes Network (EIPIN), which was established in 1999 to facilitate and increase cooperation among European IP institutions and scholars through joint doctoral programmes, joint conferences and funding consortiums.
