    Goals / Remit

    Rete ONU rappresenta e promuove interessi e istanze degli operatori italiani del riutilizzo e della preparazione per il riutilizzo presso le istituzioni pubbliche, i legislatori e altri stakeholder. Ha l'obiettivo di coinvolgere tutte le anime del settore, garantendo pluralità e democrazia interna. Nasce il 22 Novembre 2011, da un progetto di unitarietà di operatori e organizzatori di mercati storici e delle pulci, delle fiere e delle strade, di cooperative sociali, cooperative di produzione lavoro che lavorano nel sociale, botteghe di rigatteria e dell’usato e dei negozi dell'usato in conto terzi. Un comparto produttivo che, in Italia, conta almeno 80.000 operatori, 100.000 persone impiegate e un volume di scambi in continua crescita. Con una base di circa 13.000 persone rappresentate attraverso i propri soci, Rete ONU è la principale associazione di categoria nazionale del settore, e l'unica che include tutti gli operatori del riutilizzo.

    Rete ONU is financed exclusively with the contribution of its members who pay an annual support fee necessary for the proper functioning of the association. The board of the association is made up of 10 members with the right to vote plus 2 auditors: secretary and institutional councilor. All the members of the board support the association with their voluntary work divided into working groups: communication, institutional relations; scientific Committee; technical and legal committee. The members of the board provide with their own resources to finance the activities necessary to achieve the monthly and long-term objectives identified. The fees of the members are used for administrative management, bank expenses and promotion of events, contributions to the creation of sector publications such as the 2020-2021 edition of the National Report on reuse, which is released in July 2021.

    The Recopop network represents the European second hand, re-use and preparation for re-use sector in all its plurality and diversity: their member organizations in several EU member states and neighbor countries are operators of re-use and preparation for re-use, they are popular recyclers, collectors, wholesalers, sorters and retailers of second hand goods, entrepreneurs and social economy players, not relying on public financial subsidies.
