Goals / Remit
CERONAV is a self-financed public national institution subordinated to the Romanian Ministry of Transport, set up in 1976 and designated as national body for the training of sea-going, river, port and offshore rig personnel. It currently provides over 200 courses, under STCW 2010 and beyond, for approximately 20,000 trainees per year including sea and river personnel but also young people in search of a job in the maritime and inland navigation field or people taking up professional reconversion to seamen, boatmen, fitters etc.
CERONAV facilities include two premises in Constanta equipped with state-of-the-art simulators, a practical training campus (fire-fighting, boat-davits & rescue boats, training-pool, etc.) and a unit & an Information and Training Centre – InfoDanube specialized in training of inland nautical personnel in Galati.
CERONAV personnel includes 180 people, including senior experts with a solid background and extensive experience on sea-going and inland vessels.Main EU files targeted
