    Goals / Remit

The Seafood Importers and Processors Alliance (SIPA) is an international alliance of seafood businesses dedicated to food safety issues and legislation.

Its aim is to facilitate scientific research and studies into all issues relating to food safety and food security of fishery and aquaculture products that have been imported into the European Union. SIPA sponsors scientific studies to clarify issues to inform and benefit its members, their businesses and the international seafood trade.

SIPA aims to improve relations between European and international stakeholders. This may include preparing or commissioning policy and position papers, amendments, opinion polls and surveys, open letters and other communication or information material.

SIPA members share information with each other and the wider seafood sector on the issues including: seafood safety, trade, tariffs, supply and reputation. Members receive recommendations and support on how to overcome these issues.
